Description: The wheel therapy class is designed to increase the flexibility of the spine and openness of the shoulders, back and neck which are the most common areas of chronic tightness and pain. This is done through a series of yoga inspired movements with the aid of the yoga wheel. This workshop will allow for great release, making you feel both invigorated and lighter afterwards.

 Hot Pilates is a challenging, full body, low impact, high intensity workout, using Pilates principles. It is designed for all fitness levels and it is one of the fastest growing fitness classes in the US. This train­ing pro­vides the basic knowledge to teach a well-rounded class. The structured components are;

  • A review of the Basic Pilates Principles
  • A full explanation of the exercises and poses
  • How to use cues
  • How to explain cues
  • How to con­struct the class
  • Alignment
  • How to get the class grounded
  • Music
  • Dialogue
  • How to be an effective instructor

In addition, each teacher will receive our 102 page manual which contains everything you need to know including pictures and diagrams of signature moves and correct sequencing.

The Sterling Method of yoga instruction sets our training apart from the others. At Sterling, we utilize a variety of teaching tools to teach to the varied learning styles of adult students.

Sterling Participants Will Learn

  • Sequence, key terms and phraseology of instruction

  • Principles of anatomy and how they apply to each posture
  • How to see bodies and make corrections
  • Vocal variety while maintaining an authentic voice
  • Confidence though practice teaching
  • Yoga history and philosophy
  • Customer service aspect of a professional yoga instructor
  • How to put it all together to teach with precision and intent
  • Living the teaching lifestyle – how to manage money, stay healthy and avoid burnout as a yoga instructor

Graduates of this program are eligible to register as Registered Yoga Teachers – RYT 200
