30's

Meet Kyle

sales professional, MMA fighter, and yoga practitioner

What brought you to Bikram Yoga?
I’ve had back pain and knee pain most of my life. I also work in the sales world, which is very stressful. I did yoga a couple times in another location and wanted to try it full time to help with pain, stress, and weight loss. When I came to Texas and found Bikram Yoga North Texas, that was that.

What did you get from your yoga practice that you were not expecting?
From day one I was hooked. It helped with my back pain and loosening up my knee (torn twice playing college football). It also helped to clear my mind. Finally, I got to meet some great people.

Why do you think it’s important for someone your age to maintain a consistent practice?
I found yoga to be the most important part of my day. The yoga keeps you coming back: it is an addiction. In my opinion, consistent yoga at 30 means you feel 20 again.

Why will you continue to practice yoga into your next decade?
Yoga has help me improve mentally, physically, and emotionally. My body and mind crave yoga. I look forward to every class and focus on improving myself every class. I cannot see life without yoga.

What do you believe you could have avoided if you had started your practice sooner?
Not being so stiff in the hips, lower back, knees, and shoulders from years of sports. I would also have learned the correct ways to breath to calm the body and mind down.

What advice do you have for new students or people who haven’t tried Bikram Yoga yet?
Yoga is for everyone. Any age, body type, gender, and any skill level. Don’t let the image of yoga fool you – this is one of the toughest but best workouts you will ever have. Come in with a clear mind.  We welcome you to your new addiction.
