What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is a meditative and restorative style of yoga that focuses on long-held, passive poses to target the body’s deeper connective tissues—ligaments, fascia, and joints. This practice enhances flexibility, improves circulation, and promotes relaxation by tapping into the parasympathetic nervous system.

In addition to her yoga credentials, Christina has a strong academic foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Science in Long-Term Care, Senior Housing, and Aging Services from the University of North Texas, and is a Doctoral Candidate in Leadership and Gerontology at Concordia University Chicago. Her dissertation will explore the role that yoga plays in the lives of older adults, further aligning her academic work with her passion for yoga and well-being.
Christina is inspired daily by the dedication and openness that BYNT students bring to their yoga practice. She believes teaching Yin yoga is a profound way to help students connect with their inner peace and strength while fostering trust and growth within the community. Now, Christina is ready to guide aspiring Yin yoga teachers as they deepen their understanding, develop their skills, and step into the rewarding role of inspiring others to find balance, connection, and transformation through yoga.
